Got yet another one for my forum friends: I was doing some looking at images of BN GP35s. (Looking for an idea for a mate for one I purchased at a train show last summer to cover a back-and-forth - one engine going one way the other covering the return trip. I don't really need another project, but they always seem to gang up on me when I least expect them to.) In that process, I saw one picture that got my attention: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=22445&nseq=39. Of course, I have always been someone who likes unusual things. (That's why I have 8 GP20s on my layout.)
The picture talks about BN 2580 and BN 2576 being ex-Frisco (SLSF) units that rode on Alco switcher trucks. From looking at the information in another picture, I know that the BN leased some of the Frisco GP35s before they bought the SLSF as they has a motive power shortage.
My questions are these: 1. Other than the two numbers already mentioned, were there any other BN (ex-SLSF) units that rode on the ALCO trucks (BN numbers in this case)? 1a. What year(s) did those units receive their BN green paint jobs? 1b. Depending on the answer to 1a, what SLSF numbers did those 35s carry? (I am trying to stick to a certain era and I don't want to go past it.)
If I can get the unit numbers, I have enought photo sites that I should be able to get it going from there.
Thank you as usual for any help the forums can provide.
Seven units: SLSF 725-731 ran on AAR Type B trucks from trade-in Alco FA1/FB1 cab units. BN numbers 2575-2581
Dispositions: http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/slsf-700-732-locomotive-depositions.516/
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
