It isn't too hard if you have a good library. You should buy the two WP Diesel Pictorials by FourWaysWest. Morning Sun also has several good WP Books; "WP Trackside" and "WP Freight Cars" (which I have more than half the pictures in!). Skip the ones from TLC; they are JUNK!!
Also, Yahoo! Groups has two WP groups with good info.

Peter,
you sure can find answers to my question!!
Thanks a lot. I'm modeling a western layout based on WP and ATSF with the help of my son. I live in Montreal Canada, so even if I have been in California visiting in 1997, I don't have a first hand view of the area i'm modeling, but I read a lot!

WP bought U30B's (late U28B carbody) #751-755 and U30B carbodies #756-769 all delivered in orange and silver. They also bought ex-demos #770-771 U30B's in green. Later all were renumbered 3051-3071 and painted various green and orange schemes. They also bought U23B's #2251-2265 in green and orange. Altas has a nice WP U23B and P2K is doing the early U30B next year. The Athearn U28B can be used for the early U30B and the Athearn U30B is good for WP's U30B.

I would like to know what U-Boat the WP had on roster. U23B,U25B, U28B or U30B?? And What were their series of road numbers? I have a few Athearn WP that i'm not too sure what they are...
