"No soup for you!" - Yev Kassem (from Seinfeld)
I did a lot of research a couple of years ago by starting with a Google search. Tons of info and pictures, of many different styles and methods of moving trash by trains.
Everything from open top containers and closed containers, shipped in regular well cars, all styles of gondolas, (high-side, wood chip, etc.) some with covers or tarps, some open, and specialty containers on special flat cars, made to hold them.
You do some searching, and you'll find all kinds of info. I have my version of a trash train on my YouTube channel. I modeled it from what I found in the Seatle area. East coast trains typically use the special containers, 4 on a specially made flat car.
Just Google Trash trains, and all variations.

Municipal solid waste and construction debris are also shipped in old wood chip gondolas to landfills.
Here's one I found online:

Does anyone have prototype photos of trash trains being unloading or loading? I'm thinking of this being another industry (Landfill unloading) and I want to know what the process is like.
