What color is a close match for the blue used on EMD demo units in the 60's and the ET800 Test Car. I seem to remember a sort of metal finish to the blue. Maybe start with D&H blue?

Possibly a Floquil Conrail Blue or Model Master Cobalt Blue. Just my thoughts.

There was a discussion on the Detroit Edison engines some years ago on the old Atlas Forum. These engines were painted somewhat in the EMD SD45 demonstrator scheme.
One gentlemen used 4 parts of D&H Blue to one part Silver which matched the Scalecoat EMD Blue. Also Testors GM Engine Blue is the same color as used by EMD on the demonstrators.
