I have a set of decals and an old AHM ex-PRR flat tail observation car. Does anyone know what the interior looks like after EMD modified the interior for the test equipment - Pictures or diagrams?

Hi, Jim
I can't help with the interior arrangement but here's a photo showing it with all the shades pulled down! Good excuse for not worrying about the interior...

There's references to an old EMD promo film, "Research Rides the Rails" but I have not seen any sources for this on the web.
Good luck with your project, sounds interesting, Ed
Maybe this will help...
American Milemaster, Ex S-P (round end chopped off in 1957) the car EMD converted to ET800 was then sold to Conrail as a rail geometry car 22. I found a floorplan here:
http://issuu.com/mr-hobbyist/docs/mrh-2010-sep-oct-ol#download
Navigation is a little goofy but I was able to view the image on page 85 of this issue. It shows the Conrail floorplan but I am guessing CR didn't have to make too many changes to the layout of the car.
As of 2013 the car still exists in Scranton, PA.

Hope this gets you in the ballpark, Ed
You can directly download that issue of MRH here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/back-issues
Then it's just a PDF you can view normally.

Yeah, but for that 2010 issue I get a 404 error and they are using some kind of mag viewer issuu (?) that's buggy.
I found a mirror here that seems to work:
http://macrodyn.com/assets/files/MRH09/MRH-2010-Sep-Oct.pdf
but still, if you click to enlarge the image of the floorplan I still get a 404 error. Page not found.
Thanks
I just downloaded it from my link, works fine. Use Non-Flash download. Right click, save as (it tells you that if you try to click, actually) and you get a PDF on your computer. That's why I posted the link I did, so you can get your own PDF instead of use that Issuu viewer thing which seems pretty flakey, to read online. There are several options for that issue - read online (yuck), Flash download, non-flash download, and a printer-friendly version with Flash download. Forget Flash (I'd use a stronger word, but not suitable for posting here) - not just for this, but everywhere it appears.
Hmm, I guess someone moved a file. Possible downside of all electronic - have to keep all the files in the same place they were at the time of publication. However, you can zoom in 200% and still see the outlones, can't read the fine print though. I even tried the embedded version, which is supposed to include all the media. Nope, still links to a storage section where the file is missing.
