Perhaps a reason to model a remote siding with a general store and a few houses, plus one very special one?
This was a wonderful Christmas story that my dad told me as a child. Dad didn't know a lot of the details, but I was able to authenticate it and add photos. The story was included as a sidebar in my book, Railroading on the Wabash Fourth District. I fear if not for my diligence and those that were willing to share, this wonderful account would have probably been lost to history.

That's a nice story. I always enjoy reading those like this one. Our local paper has a weekly column titled "Random Acts of Kindness". I read it faithfully every week & I'm always reassured that good people are still out there.
