Athearn Genesis SD75M - BNSF Paint Detail
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, October 30, 2004 8:24 PM
Road numbers 8213 and 8258 come with the entire cab roof in BNSF orange as you would expect. Unit 8236 has the flat top part of the cab roof in green and the slanted sides of the roof in orange. Haven't been able to find a pic of that unit (or numbers around it) shot from above to see if this is for real or a mistake on the model. Since it takes more time on the production line to paint the roof two colors, there had to be a reason (maybe). Thoughts?

If you look on the side of the cab were a loco's model number is, you'll see that on loco 8213 it has SD75MAC instead of SD75M

Ya I saw that too.I still have to put on the sun visors. Some how im gona have to get rid of the AC after the M. Leave it to Athearn. Always got to screw up something up.
At least with the my Kato's,At least they came out Perfect. No wounder why I never was that too crazy about Athearn in the first place. This will be the last one that ill ever buy.
And not only that there no holes in the cab for the windsheld wipers.[:(!],Morons.

I don't think its Athearn's fault. As I understand it, BNSF accidentally mislabled some units after a paint job. So I guess Athearn just followed.
