The R&S does not serve any mine.  Instead it serves a number of Alcan's aluminum smelters in the Chicoutimi (Quebec) area.  The main traffic is bauxite ore which arrives by ship at Port Alfred on the Saguenay River.  The original smelter was about 18 miles away in Arvida.  It has expanded in modern times with short branches to serve additional plants, and also gained running rights over a portion of the CN tracks beyond the connection at Arvida.  Obviously as well as the ore Alcan will have other inbound and outbound commodity flows related to the industry.  I expect there is a small amount of business from other local companies since the R&S has always been a common carrier.

Prototype Info for the Roberval & Saguenay

I saw a picture of this line recently and thought it could be a good prototype to model/draw a plan up for.

I know the line is about 100ish miles long, but does anyone know the start/stop points of this line?

Who are this lines interchange partners?

I know this railroad started as a mining line, but I've seen manifest frieghts in photos of this line. What industries are served besides the mine?
