I model in N-scale and one piece of my collection is a Big SKy Blue passenger consist. It was part of a set purchased when my father and I made the switch to n-scale in the early 70s. I took good care of this train set and it is one of my favorites. I did have to replace the engine. It came when a PA-1 and I used it so much I broke an amature wire. I was never able to repair it. I kept it though. The whole set was made by Con-Cor. About 6 years ago when I started to model again I purchased a new undecorated PA-1. I was able to take the shell off the old engine and put it on the new one. All I had to do was paint the wheel carriages. I did that with a black sharpie. The bonus was the new motor came with a 9 pin DCC plug. From what I have seen Con-Cor no longer makes a Big Sky Blue consist for N-Scale.

I found that the big sky blue color in poly-scale was a little dark and I had to lighten it some to match the consist.  I found this out because I purchased a dummy B unit that I had to paint.

Modeling a railroad hypothetically set in time.

Having never seen a GN Big Sky Blue passenger car except in photos, is the blue used on the Rapido passenger cars about right? I have always imagined it to be more like Tamiya's French Blue or their Light Blue. I know that there are variations based on usage, fading, etc.
