It is simply AMAZING what comes up when you enter "heisler canada" into a search engine:

Looking at the roster of Heislers from the book The Heisler Locomotive 1891-1941 by Benjamin F. G. Kline, Jr.:
The first Heisler actually shipped new to British Columbia was construction no. 1103, built in November of 1906. It was a 45-ton (2 truck) to McNair Timber Co. of Vancouver as their #1. This locomotive had six other owners in B.C.
Year 1907 - cn 1117, a 45-tonner to E. H. Heaps Timber Co. of Ruskin, BC; #1121, a little 19-ton standard gauge unti to North American Land & Lumber Co. of Fernie, B.C.
and cn 1125, a 19-ton standard gauge unit to McLaughlin Lumber Co of Vancouver as their #8.
Many more followed to British Columbia in later years, and the used locomotive market could have also seen some of them move into Canada after initial use in the states of Washington or Oregon.
