At the end of the 40', Canadian Pacific received Alco RS-2 with a Tuscan Red/Yellow paint scheme.
My research on Internet failed to give me a color photo of prototype.
Doe's anyone know if there are some color photos somewhere?

Guy, that paint scheme appears to be correct, although I'm not aware of any colour photos of it. According to Rail Canada Vol. III, there were three versions of that paint scheme applied to the early RS-2s.In the first version, (drawing dated March 25, 1949) the yellow band on the front was straight and 15" wide. The one on the side of the loco was also the same width, including that on the cab side, while the yellow area on the long hood was not continuous, but simply long enough to accommodate the "CANADIAN PACIFIC" lettering.Revision "A", dated May 17, 1949, raised the yellow panel on the cab side to avoid the filler holes on the cab side, and the yellow patch for the roadname was extended to cover the entire length of the sheet metal on the long hood.Revision "B" on July 19, 1949, extended the yellow band across the radiator shutters and the carbody air intakes, and also added a 1/2" wide black pinstripe around the edges of the yellow areas.
Your nicely-done paint job appears to follow revision "B", although if the black pinstriping has been applied, it's difficult to see. I hadn't realise that the roof was black until reading the book, but a closer look indicates that you've got it right.There's only one photo of an RS-2 wearing this paint scheme in the book, a black and white one showing 8404 on a turntable. The caption notes that while the overall paint scheme matches the specifications of Revision "B", the unit does not appear to have the black pinstripes.

Brent. In 1949, booth 8405 and 8406 had the same paint scheme but the photos on your post show a later paint scheme, the C3.
Wayne. Your are right, according to the linked text, it is the B2 paint scheme.

i should mention here that it is not my paint job. The model was manufactured by Life Like few years ago as a P1K model. It seems that very few were painted using the B2 paint scheme.
i'll try to find a copy of the Rail Canada vol III. Thank you for the reference.
Page 59 of the Morning Sun book, Canadian Pacific in Color Eastern Lines by Bill Linley, has a picture of the 8403 just after delivery. To my surprise the yellow band looks closer to grey, but between the age of the photograph and printing that is not conclusive.

if the photo was taken just after delivery, it is a yellow band for sure. All RS-2 were delivered with the TuscanRed/yellow paint scheme.
