Can someone tell me when the Santa Fe begain the blue/yellow paint scheme on their Geep 7/9's with the very large Santa Fe on the long hood?

The Santa Fe started using the 'Book Ends' yellow/blue paint scheme around 1959. The EMD SD24's and Alco RSD15's were the first new engines I am aware of the were delivered in the new paint scheme. After that date, repaints should have gone to the new Yellow/Blue paint scheme. That paint scheme lasted until the early 70's when the silver trucks and yellow 'war bonnet' started to appear on freight units.

Thanks Jim. I've got several Santa Fe books that I need to check, but I'm having a hard time remembering the early GP 7/9 in black and white-zebra stripe-paint, so I am wondering how they appeared in the 50s.

All of the switches/road switchers were delivered in the 'Zebra Stripe' paint scheme until 1959.
after looking through my copy of Santa Fe Early Diesel Daze and finding a few 50s photos of geeps in the zebra paint, I figured that was the case. So '59 is the watershed date for black and white moving to the blue/yellow bookends style. Thanks for your help.
