Illinois Midland (the 1.9 mile one) Enginehouse & Millington Stn
Posted by Dadadata on Friday, June 21, 2013 11:02 AM

This short line has made a few appearances in the mags over the years. I'm doing a little research. There were really no buildings the line owned except an engine house described as "stone."

Anyone have any photos? I can't find any in publications.

The only other structure of significance was the CB&Q depot at Millington IL. Anyone have a photo of it, or of another spot which used what was surely a standard design?

Morning Dadadata - I have some IM photos, but sure don't recall a "stone" engine house.  I'd be glad to scan a few of the slides and get them to you.  f you want, reply with your e-mail address and I can send some JPG scans over the next day or so.  All the best, Art

Sure. Dadadata@gmail.com.

The reference to stone is in John Steenwyk's article ... "Little stone engine house." The door end photo makes it look more like the plain single stall wooden type.

thanks ... Craig

Morning Craig - if you'd put a gun to my head, I'd have sworn it was a frame engine house, as well!  I'll dig through the slides tonight and see what if anything may be of assistance.  Have a great day, Art

Thanks. I am thinking of calling the local small museum, too.
