I remember 611 going up Saluda grade, what a sight.   I don't remember it being real dark tuscan.  This was early 90s in Tryon, NC.

I know the red/maroon used on the restored 611 when it was in fantrip service was different from the color used when the engine was originally in service. One was darker than the other, but can't remember which was which right now. Might check the Bachmann website, I think they've offered the engine in both "in service" and "fantrip" versions.

BLI J Class Color

According to the BLI website the 2550 museum/ modern J Class should have a bright tuscan paint job but mine looks really dark. In fact the bachmann I have looks better. (as in the paint is closer to what i witnessed at VMT). Does anyone have any insight from their own units? Maybe i got one off the wrong paint line... Thanks.
