Welcome to the forum !
Basically, through sources available to anyone. Some of them are US Geodetic Survey quadrangle maps, satellite imagery, and, at libraries that have keyword access to them, Sandborn insurance maps. Also, if CSX has any promotional literature for their intermodal services, you might glean something from the photos. One other possible source is to ask this question at the Yahoo groups intermodal site, which you can join for free. Since this is post 9-11, field trips aren't as good an option. You might want to try a keyword search at the Index of Magazines, using "CSX intermodal" or "intermodal terminal" as the search term
