trainbuster,

Most of my stuff is 50's and 60's.  Sorry I can't be of much help,

Bob

WinkI was going for the look of the early 90's, the time of shiny warbonets and old yellow and blue frieght schemes.

Welcome  trainbuster,

A couple questions to see if I can be helpful to you.  What years are you modelling?  Where on the line are you modelling?

Yahoo has a Santa Fe discussion group and a Peoria Rails group you may find helpful.  If you are modelling North Chillicothe, Illinois, depending on the year,  there were different stations, a clubhouse, a connection to the Rock Island, a large yard, a roundhouse, and nearby gravel pits which provided ballast for most of the Chilli sub.   Often charts, rulebooks,  and pictures come up for auction on a certain auction site under ATSF or Santa Fe.   If you have been to Chilli, or seen a satellite view, much has been removed over the years.  During much of the ATSF time the City of Chillicothe had not yet annexed the village of North Chillicothe where the SF facilities were.

Well we're off to a start.  Let me know if  I can be of further assistance.  The years and locations are important.

Happy modelling,

Bob

Have you tried good old http://www.google.com, entering search terms e.g.:

chilli sub Santa Fe
or
Chillicothe sub

For starters, have a look e.g. at this page (scroll down for text, click on labels at top to jump to another page) on a web site dedicated to Bruce Carpenter's Chilli sub layout: http://www.bnsfchillisub.com/Links.htm

Smile,
Stein

I'm working on a Santa Fe line in Illinois (Chilly Sub). If anyone has information on websites or books it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.Smile, Wink & Grin
