Let's establish if it really is the Broadway first. It left Chicago late in the day so are the shadows right? Best one is the first telephone pole followed by the front of the cab and smokebox in shade, If the train is heading east then they are approximately correct and do not rule out the Broadway. The "swoosh" made appearances on the Broadway when it wasn't in the shop so it could be the Broadway. The cars are a different story to my eyes. The RPO at the head end could be correct but the next car appears to be a coach which the Broadway did not carry. The next four are possibly P70 coachs that have had air conditioning ducts added to them. None of the cars are identifiable from the picture as window arrangements or car names would be needed to make positive ID of the class of each. Would FOM painting still be used in 1945 on the Broadway? Possibly but I doubt it. With the PRR never say never. Not much was repainted during the war as all raw materials went to support the war effort. To get the cars used on the Broadway in 1945 you will need to see a copy of the 1945 "Make Up of Trains" for the PRR which lists the number of cars of each style. One may be available on the Keystone Crossings web site under passenger operations. For a definitive answer I suggest you join one or all of the PRR groups on Yahoo where several experts can answer your questions directly. Also go to the PRRT&HS web site and subscribe to the Keystone Modeler which is free. This months issue covers the new Walthers Broadway cars extensively among other topics
