Does anyone know if these locomotives come with windshield wipers?

They should have wipers included in the box, but for some reason Athearn want's the modeler to put them on. They don't even have predrilled holes or "dimples".

For basic information:With the Kato there is a lot more parts to add..It almost a kit.My friend has 4 Kato SD75Ms and he ended up having to drill some of the holes out for the grabs.Nice looking engine once you get the parts added. He also has 2 Athearns SD75Ms.These are nice looking as well.

Since when did Kato make HO SD75Ms ????
Kato makes 70MACs, but not 75s.

That was a typo on my part..[:O] [:I] I was thinking SD70MAC and type in SD75M-At least I got the SD and 7 correct,then had a mind/finger problem.[:0] [:D]

Kato makes 70MACs, but not 75s.
But Kato SD70/SD75M's would be more than welcome. I'd like to have ATSF SD75M's on my layout, but I'll pass on the Athearn.

I have one of Athearn Gennisis SD70M and this is the first and last Athearn Genesis engine I'll ever own. It is noisy even though I lubricated it. But the biggest problem I have is that it is very picky about the track. On 18" radius - forget it. This is mainly due to the way the trusks are balanced. Also on turnouts it derails often too.
I have nothing against Athearn an I love their rolling stock (for the price/quality ratio) but as far as engine - I've learned my lesson. I have great experience with Kato. It runs very well on my layout, smooth and ditch lights really add up to the looks. And it is a lot less noisy.

Considering they are the same money - I'll choose Kato any day now. I've actually ordered a pair of SD70 MAC and they go for 79.99 a peice.

Just my two cents. If you are buying at LHS ask them to try it out, see if you like it, before spending money on it.

I tell you what, that's why I did not buy Athearns in first place.
Thank God for the Kato's,I just love these big beasts.
I wounder if Kato will make a VERY big profit from these new 2 BN SD70MAC's that is to hit the market.
To this very day I still love the BN cream & green SD70MAC's.
