Most bear HOKX reporting marks (Occidental Chemical). Walthers makes an HO version of the car. John Timm Something to keep in mind about the Walthers tankcar is that it is a non-pressure tankcar (it does not haul chlorine). The prototypes I have seen haul sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.

You are correct. The cars that show up at Hasa are painted / decorated like the Wathers car but are pressurized. The Atlas 17,360 tank car is appropriate for the prototype, with the proper dome, although I do not know offhand if it available in the HOKX version.

When I was a switchman a number of years ago we would spot a car of chlorine at the city water works facility every month or so.

I used to cover City Council in Corpus Christi, Texas as a TV reporter. I rfemember a few years back a city manager's report about the economy of paying demurrage on rail tankcars beinging chlorine to the water purification plant. The city found it less costly to keep the cars on the plant spur as storage, rather than attempting to pump out to another tank.
My corollary for model railroad operation would be that a chlorine tankcar would ALWAYS be at the unloading spot. A new full car would be scheduled to be delivered in advance of the old car being emptied, and would sit in place until the nold car was empty and then take its place.
My "industry/ traffic/ commodity" notes mention paper pulping. Anyone list that already?
I worked for a company that was next door to Clorox. Clorox receives their bleach and drain cleaner in tank cars at their distribution sites around the U.S. Why???? Bleach and drain cleaner are weight heavy products. To reduce shipping costs they ship by rail to their distribution warehouses.
They receive their cartons and bottles by truck, empty. They unload the bottles/cartons from the trucks into the warehouse. They unload the tank cars into the building. The run their filling lines, filling the bottles and repackage the bottles into the cartons. The filled bottles and cartons are loaded onto trucks and shipped to grocery warehouses to sell to the public.
To model this type of operation you would need 2 or 3 spots to place tank cars in the back of the building. In the front of the building you could have dock doors all the way across the front. Some of these doors would be inbound and the rest would be outbound finished packaged oproduct.
