Is it possible Frisco acquired boxcars from Penn Central or New York Central?

Short answer, yes.

Longer answer, Frisco had a number of 50' Plug Door boxcars painted in what I would have called Pale Blue, almost GN Big Sky Blue.  As those cars aged the blue faded to more of a turquoise color in some cases.

I'm sure that the cars were intended for some type of dedicate service, hence the odd color.  I never found out just what that was.
