Kwboehm,
Just did a quick search at the Index of Magazines, using "F40C" as the search term:

It appears that at least three or four of the articles cited might have the information you seek. Someone else will have to advise you if Absolute Scale Models or Walthers or whomever makes the best starting point.

Sorry to ask another question on someone else's post, but I figured it would be a good place to start since it's about Metra. I was wondering where I could find prototype info or line drawings like you see in MR on the F40C used on the Milwaukee Road lines. Also what model would be closest to use since I'm sure it'll take some kitbashing. Any help will be great. Thanks.

Check out www.asmodels.com

Click on Products and then Passenger. [;)][:D]

There are a couple of nice variations of the extended F40 body. One of these may work for you. [:D][8D][:)][swg][tup]

I'm looking at a photo of one of these at the moment - strange-looking loco from the front! I'd suggest starting with a Walthers F40PH and being prepared to do a lot of kitbashing to build what you want - I'm not aware of any RTR models or kits for this loco.

I'm interested in knowing if an HO scale model of this locomotive was ever made for the Metra Commuter Railroad in Chicago. Any information (either kitbashing or RTR) would be greatly appreciated.
