Yes, Peco is coming out with Code 83 track, turnouts and crossings...later this year. I believe it was in June after some show or event takes place.

Be patient. I'm waiting, too!

Yes, I understand what you mean. Sleepers are what we call ties here in USA. As far as the different lengths on the new Peco track, I really don't know, but I would guess not. That's just my opinion. The only info I had was what I had read in a report a couple months back by a Kalmbach correspondent at the Milwaukee Train Show, I believe.

Hi again.

I wrote a mail to Peco direct and get this answer.

"We are pleased to tell you that we plan to introduce a completely new HO Scale Code 83 track System in July this year. We would like to direct you to an article with pictures in the May 2004 issue of "Continental Modeller" on Page 314 that gives information about this new trackage system. The first six items to be released will be No 5 & No 6 turnouts, a No 6 Diamond crossing and Flexible Track."

First I will buy this magazin and read the article and look to the picture, after that it´s time to take a stand for this new track or Peco Streamline code 75.

Robert,

Here is a quote from the magazine a modeler on another board posted. I saw it last night (SAT.):

........
"Listers - this is directly from April '04 Railway Modeller.

QUOTE <A totally new US profile track system is to be introduced in
JUNE 2004 by PECO. Code 83 does not replace any of the currently
available track, but is an important additional range to provide an
authentic HO scale system for modellers of the Nrth American
prototype.
The rail profile and sleeper (tie) spacing will reflect US practice,
there will be extended sleepers (ties) for point (switch) levers, and
the rail fixings, baseplates with spikes and siderail fixings with
cast cleats all add to the realism. Check rail and frog clearances
will be to NMRA standard and flange support in the frog area will
give smooth passage over points. Livefrog and insulfrog points
(switches) to NMRA classifications Nos.5 and 6 and a No.6 diamond
crossing will be part of the range.
Flexible track in yard lengths will be available too. It is, of
course, totally compatible for use with DCC>END QUOTE

There is a VERY small photo which doesn't help much
That's all I have at the moment - HIH "

Hi.

I cant wait to se it, I have been looking for the magazin in my little town, but there is no shop provide it. Maybee next week I go to Stockholm and there I will find it if not sold out.

If I find it and there is picture I will put them on our Internet sajt, www.rapidho.has.it .
It´s only in swedish but there is picture from our club-layout, a typical swedish layout in construction.

Robert
