Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, April 3, 2004 6:01 AM

I have spent endless hours on the web including Ted Yorks site in search of photos of the San Bernadino,Calif. railroad station and the yard. I have come up empty.
Does anyone know where I can get or see photos of this station and yard. Please help i am total lost on this one.I am modeling the cajon pass area.
Thank you all in advance.

Louie, have you tried to find a San Bernardino Historical Society or maybe a Model Railroad club in the area?

Louie:

The local historical society has a hand colored post card ca1910 of the Santa Fe station on its web page. Certainly other images are in the archives of both the historical society and in the holdings of the library of CSU San Bernardino.

Your best bets are the Kansas State Historical Society or the Santa Fe Historical and Modeling Society.

Don't know where you are located but the station still stands and is open to the public. Can you say field trip? :-)!

While this isn't quite what you are asking for, the end papers of Cinthia Priest's "The Santa Fe Diesel Volume 1" include the track and building layout of the San Bernadino shops, including the station area, and give the plan of the station building (in a small scale). The caption covers the tracks at the LA end that are now used by Metrolink! The shops area is now an intermodal yard.
