info on UP SW1000M's and San Pedro & Southwestern's SW1500M: Former SP's?

can anyone tell me anything about the UP 74 SW1000M's and the SW1500M on the Sand Pedro & Southwestern? Are these SW type switchers former Southern Pacific locomotives with the SP type headlights? the SW1000M's and lone SW1500M's are listed in 1996-1997 Edition The Official Locomotive Rosters & News.
