R17 Subway Cars; N-scale

Lifelike is now producing New York City subway cars; are they available in N-scale? If not, what would be a good starting point for kit-bashing or would scratch building be a better option?

You'd probably be best off scratch-building these. I think Lifelike have taken a risk in tooling and releasing these cars - in my experience subway models don't find many buyers.
