Don't know what back issue resources you have, but have you read the articles found by using the terms "gauntlet track" and "track scale" in the search engine in the Index of Magazines portion of this site ? Good luck. Bob Barney

<http://home.att.net/~CWRR/CW>, but ATT Net doesn't seem to like that ,either. Also, you might want to see if you can locate a copy of "Trackwork Handbook for Model Railroads," 3rd edition, by Paul Mallery either on Interlibrary Loan or at a used book site/store, since it's Out of Print. It may have something on gauntlet tracks.

I may be wrong here, but I always thought that it was spelled "gantlet" not "gauntlet". The wrong spelling would affect your search engine results (or lack thereof).

Lest we be "hoist by our own petard," I checked the spelling in a dictionary. The spelling I used is correct. Your spelling is also correct, but is a secondary, less common spelling. You are also correct that incorrect spelling will affect many search engines, although some will offer alternatives.

In railroad parlance, it's "gantlet," no matter what Webster says.

Say "gauntlet," and railroaders will (a) look puzzled, (b) laugh at you, and/or (c) hand you a glove.

And, yes, there have been several examples on layouts featured in MR over the years. See the Model Train Magazine Index for specifics.
