C&O flatcar load

Hi all,

I'm wondering, what would be a good load for a 50' C&O flatcar in the mid-50s?
Especially on an appalachian layout.

well, basically anything because of run though freights.

A canvas-colored blob of no particular shape, edges tied down to the stake pockets. Faded logo and company name, or no lettering at all, well weathered with road grime and locomotive exhaust residue.

What's under that tarp? Beats me.

Wood, steel beam or pipe, concrete sewer pipe, machinery load of ?? open or tarped.

All good suggestions given. How about a load of lumber, or even better, mine timbers?

Or maybe something a bit more out-of-the-ordinary?











And just because it's a C&O flatcar, it doesn't necessarily have to be going to a destination served directly by the C&O.

Thanks Jim, I'll be happy to show more, although I'm not sure if I've got much more in the way of flatcar loads. Anything in particular, or just a random selection? I don't want to highjack this thread.[:)][:)]
