rio grande cabooses

i seen a pic of a rio grande caboose and it was black with white r/g writing , has anyone got any info or know anything bout this caboose cos i wanna do up a model of one , like know of any web sites or anything ?? thanks[:D]

check out http://www.rr-fallenflags.org for more info on this caboose. You'd need to know the number as well to track down any real info on it. By the looks of things, Black with white text was a standard livery for the D&RGW.

ok cool , thanks and also on the rio grande sd45 , which side and jurnal box was the speed recorders on ?

All the first steel hacks the Grande built had black bodies with white "speed lettering".
Some had two horizontal yellow stripes on the sides to show they were equipped with radios.
Later cabooses were painted to match the Aspen Gold & silver paint schemes of the passenger cars, first with four stripes, then with one. They also had the "Thru the Rockies" herald applied.
The next scheme was to paint them all Aspen Gold with the "Action Road" herald.
There were many variations amd some of them lasted until the end.
