All the first steel hacks the Grande built had black bodies with white "speed lettering". Some had two horizontal yellow stripes on the sides to show they were equipped with radios. Later cabooses were painted to match the Aspen Gold & silver paint schemes of the passenger cars, first with four stripes, then with one. They also had the "Thru the Rockies" herald applied. The next scheme was to paint them all Aspen Gold with the "Action Road" herald. There were many variations amd some of them lasted until the end. Need more info, go to drgw.org.
