Try filing the base of the rail to a slight point. You need to file the underside of the rail, the sides of the base, and the top of both sides of the base.
Also, look at the head of the rail. It probably needs cleaning up as well.
Even the rail nippers that are supposed to produce a smooth cut end leave bits, and the other side of the cut is usually worse.

to open up the railjoiners take an offcut of rail and file the web into a point in bothe the horizontal and vertical axes. then you can pu***he railjoiner onto this to open up the railjoiner a bit.

good luck!

Two possible problems here. It could be that you need to file away any burrs produced when you cut the track - I used to have this problem all the time with N-scale track. If that isn't the problem, try gently prising the rail joiners a little further open - if they're loose you can always squeeze them tight again after installing them. Hope this helps!

HI,
I am using the above track on my layout and having difficulty joining 2 pieces of flex track together,I am presently using 2 pair of small modelrailroading pliers but the Peco rail joiners are so tight that I cant get them together.

Thanks for your help,
Joe McDonnell
