[8DIdea: Owners of sound equipped DCC locomotives!
Posted by AntonioFP45 on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 10:45 AM
Hey Guys & Gals.[:)][:I]

Lots of us now are taking the DCC "plunge" with sound. It would be great for those of you that have already equipped your diesels with sound to "SHOW THEM OFF" on the web by way of Media Player or something similar. I checked out RegisDCC and he has some really NICE VIDEO CLIPS of sound equipped diesel & steam locomotives on club layouts. Impressive!
Please consider this as a really neat way to share the hobby and encourage modelers who want to but are hesitant to try DCC/Sound. When you do this, make sure you feature as many sounds as you can: Horn, engine throttling up/throttling down, air "pop off", brake squeal, - You got the picture. If you know modelers that have sound, encourage them to do this. Cameras can be rented for reasonable rates if a person doesn't own one

BTW: If anyone knows any websites where modelers or clubs have posted DCC/sound equipped engines on MPEG or video clips, Please list the website and let us all know! This hobby has really taken a nice turn for the better in the "FUN" department. Thanks! Happy Railroading[:D]

God Bless & Peace

you can hit BLI's wesite ( http://www.broadway-limited.com/ ) and listen to some of the sample sounds they have there. I've also seen a few other places that offer a full sample of the sounds from sound decoders as well. Just look around you'll find them.

Hello NTDN. Yes, I've seen Broadway & Soundtraxx "sound only samples" which were pretty good.

What I'm suggesting is for modelers to make short video clips of their sound equipped units running on a layout, or a piece of track making train "music". - Thanks!
