To be more complete. Instead of running 2 wires from your power pack to the rail, run one wire from the power pack to a rail and one wire from the power pack to one terminal on the switch. Mount the switch any place you want. Then run a wire from the other terminal on the switch to the other rail. There needs to be a gap in the switched rail between where the wire is attached and where you want the block to end.

This can be done with a DPST switch, but you only have to use 1/2 of the terminals. OR you can switch both rails by using both sides of the switch. That is not needed, but will work.

If you think you have it right, your standards are too low. my photos http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/ARTHILL/ Art

Yo, I was wondering if anybody could help me with mein problem. How would you set-up a DPST switch to terminate the power in just one section, with the rest of the layout still working. Also I want the power to come back-on. Mischief [:-,]

No elaborate switch is needed to kill the power to a siding/ section. A single pole single throw(simple on/off) to interupt power to one rail is all you need.
