I have used them also.  They clean great but there is a catch.  Make sure you vacume the track after you use the block.  They leave a very light layer of black grit behind that engine wheels seem to love to pick up.

Happt New Year all!

I was in the local dollar store yesterday and picked up a 2 pack of black sanding blocks(yes $1). SKU #296067

You can buy these at the store or online wholesale. There are different grit like sandpaper. I used it last night dry on some old and new track. WOW!!!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I tried it with regular "blue" track cleaner (wet) and still works great. If using it dry you can just pat the block clean and it looks brand new.

The block is just wide enough to overhang both rails (HO) and not get caught in the ties.

Hope this helps someone.
