Christian,
I'm having trouble with my url link postings today so to get where you want to go for info on Buffalo Central Terminal do the following:
Do search for yahoo.com
When yahoo comes up, click or move your cursor to yahoo group box
In group box enter NYC-Railroad click enter
This should bring you to website for the NYC-Railroad group. You can sign up as new member(no fees involved to be member of group).
When you complete registration information required send registration to group and they will eMail you a welcoming message. Registration eMail may be delayed a few days due to Christmas holiday(and then again, may be not).
Once you're in the group you can ask the group members about Buffalo Central Terminal and wait for the information to flow. As I mentioned in previous message, you will probably be inundated with info. Better too much info then not enough.
Let me know how it goes-actually I can visit site and look for you as new member.
Merry Christmas,
Jon

This is a restoration website. Click on GALLERY, then the first picture, then Historic Images Album.

There's a New York Central group on Yahoo. It's populated by fans who can probably provide you with more information and detail re Buffalo Terminal than you would have thought possible. Interesting you should ask about BT because I hadn't visited the group for months until the other night and one of the members photo file dealt with the restoration of the terminal. The building had been allowed to deteriorate where even windows in the upper floors of the tower were broken.
I'll get back with more info re contacting the group. I am sure your question will open the flood gates of info. These chaps even have rosters of passenger trains for a given day in a given year. When the train in question is a name train they can probably tell you how often on a given run the ash trays in the lounge/observation car were emptyed.(and who did it!)
So hang on a bit and I'll get back with links and such.
Herzliche wilkommen zum forum.
Leider habe ich keine Blaupausen der Station.
Hoffentlich kann jemand anders Ihr damit helfen.
[Unfortunately, I don't have any blueprints for that station. Hopefully someone else can help you.]
Frohe Weinachten,
Karl
