Bob,
Plans by Harold W. Russsell for the station cited in my earlier posting can be found in the November 1976 issue of Model Railroader, on pages 70-73. You should be able to get a repro copy through Customer Service at this site, or from Brent Lambert at the NMRA's Kalmbach Memorial Library. It would be great if someone found plans for the steam launches that once provided passenger service on the lake.

I would be interested in a synopsis of available information on B&HR - I have an attachment to the Hammonsport area having spent many summer's there in the 50's visiting my grandparents. Pestered the guys down at the railroad many times and even got to ride the train every now and then. Now I'm back into model railroading and planning my layout which, just for the heck of it, will probably include elements of the B&H. I have some of the material referenced here and I'm looking for more. Would love a copy of the plans for the station.

RASENGES,
I pulled out my copy of the December 1978 NMRA Bulletin, to read the article "Wayland Branch, Bath & Hammondsport RR -1977" that starts on page 62, one of the articles cited/sighted in the search at the Index of Magazines. Author Theodore L. Bleck did include a small 3" by 5" map that shows the B & H from Keuka Lake to Bath and on to Wayland. At that size it may lack the detail you want, but it's a start. He also mentions a book, "Keuka Lake Memories," by William Reed Gordon. Don't know how extensive the coverage of the B & H is in Gordon's book, but it's probably worthwhile trying to locate a copy, either through Inter Library Loan or an online or offline used book outlet.

RASENGES,
There's a "fallen flags" Web site you might want to visit. The URL is:
Scroll down to the B&H and you'll find a bunch of photos at various places along the line.

RASENGES,
Just did a search at the Index of Magazines at this site. Use the search term "BHR" and you'll find 7 citations, including one for the Hammondsport station. Don't know if any of the other articles have the maps for which you are looking. Don't know what your back issue resources are, but it appears you will have to order most of the articles from the NMRA's Kalmbach Memorial Library since many of them are in the old HO Monthly. Cheers and ein prosit !

There was the article on the Bath & Hammondsport in Railroads You Can Model. I don't know if it has the exact information you need, but it might be worth a look.

RASENGES,
Just did a Google search and among other leads on the B&H found one for a person who is building modules of the area including the town of Wallace. The URL is< http://www.nvntrak.org/modules/wallace.php>. Perhaps he has some maps. Some of the other Google finds look interesting. Don't know if you live in the Finger Lakes area, but now would be a good time to take your significant other on a wine tasting tour, if imbibing isn't against your religion. Go Bully Hill !

RASENGES,
I don't model it directly, but you might want to check eBay and swap meets for the old Muir Models Inc. kit for the 1880's era station, their item 022-2750. Also, Clover House has dry transfers for a box car. Their URL is: <http://www.cloverhouse.com/>.
Have you tried historical societies or Sanford insurance maps for the track plan ?

Bath & Hammondsport Railroad - Track Plan
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 10:09 AM
Can anyone supply an accurate track plan (circa 1890) of the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad, specifically in the Hammondsport, NY area at the south end of Keuka Lake, from the main road passing by the engine house, the steamboat landing, the depot and on to the Lyon Brothers Grape Warehouse?

Does anyone model this railroad circa 1890?
