I have found some places on the net with house and buildings plans that are helping me making up new scratch buildings.

Try these two sites. The "Hotbox" has lots of articles:

or

First time on. Looking over this topic to gain knowledge. Have not begun any specific layout. Just gathering information in preparing my hobby when I retire in four years. Old time American Flyer guy. Don't have any of the AF equipment any more. Thanks for letting me view your conversations.

Buy old MR's and RMC's (especially from the 70's and early 80's), they usually had at least one set of drawings and/or article about scratchbuilding and kitbashing buildings, anything from houses to coaling towers.

Hello "lordbullfrog,"
Try the Model Train Magazine Index on this Web site. Scroll up to the top of the page and click on "Index of Magazines." I tried a keyword search on "house" and came up with several pages of entries.
Of course, this is just an index. Once you know what drawings you're looking for you still need to get the magazine issue or a copy of the drawings. For MODEL RAILROADER drawings, you can order copies from out-of-print issues from customerservice@kalmbach.com. For magazines of other publishers you'll have to contact those companies. Or, if you belong to the National Model Railroad Association, you may be able to obtain copies from the NMRA library.
Good luck,
Andy

The internet has lots of stuff but do not limit yourself to model train websites. Historic structures, home builder websites sometimes have useful drawings
