Weathering track and kind of paint used
Posted by Tom Bryant_MR on Sunday, February 5, 2006 10:32 AM
I've seen several threads on painting/weathering track using different methods from regular old spray paint to the airbrush with appropriate MFG recommended paints/thinners.

I got curious about using different paint in the airbrush. Here are the results for Railroad Tie Brown.

Cheap paint - mixed some acrylic Brown, Green and Black, thinned with PS thinner. Ratios were 12 parts brown, 1 part green, 1 part black and about 30% thinner.

Standard MFG recommended paint - this is Railroad Tie Brown. From the bottle with about 50% thinner.

Can you tell the difference ?

I now want to see how using distilled water will work.
