Changing polarity:
The TRACK polarity is changed to prevent the short circuit. The locomotive does not notice. The chip in the loco changes the sort-of AC in the track to DC and sets the direction for that.

Larry: The tail track will be one of the two that don't go to the rest of the layout. If the wye goes to the side of the mainline and you can go either way from it, the tail track is the other one.
If you have a wye that doesn't have a dead end, pick any track.

Wire the tail track, you need an auto rev. Visit digitrax they have it all laid out for you.

Wiring for a Wye (again)

After all the wye wire explainations, I never saved any of them. Anyway, here is the situation. I will be using a wye turn around on one end of my shelf layout to turn my locomotives. I am wiring for DCC and I can't remember how this is done. I believe that one of the wye sections must be electrically isolated, but cannot think of which one. All my turnouts are insulfrog. Also will a loco equipped with DCC change polarity on it's when it hits the isolated portion of the wye? I should have listened before. Any help is appreciated.
