Hi Darrell,

My equipment is about 50/50. Don't have any track yet.

Thanks for you input.

I like the Peco brand turnouts, but I don't like the code 55. This is based on the fact that most of my equipment is many years old and has the "pizza cutter" style wheelsets. I have tried the low-profile wheelsets and experienced a lot of problems running on my code 80 rail. Having decided to stay with my big-flanged wheels, I won't be converting to code 55.

Many other modelers have different experiences than mine and are very happy running low-profile wheels on code 55. I must admit it looks great. It's just not for me.

My little layout has a mix of Atlas and Peco turnouts and I have very few problems with either brand. When I expand, I will continue to use Atlas and Peco turnouts.

If a lot of your equipment has the older large-flanged wheels, you may want to re-consider your choice of track. If you are just starting out or don't have much equipment to convert to low-profile wheels, I would certainly consider the code 55.

Hi,

I need some help with the track and switches, for my "N" scale layout.

Which code and brand do most of you use and why?

I'm considering Peco "55". Pros/cons?
.

Thanks,
