Hello, on page (12) of 101 Track Plans by Lynn Westcott there is the plan that John Allen started with that he later incorporated into his famous Gorre and Dephetid layout. Anybody know where I can get a more detailed copy of this plan? Such as degree of the elevations and other info I might need. Hep me,hep me! [:)] Jerry

if you can try to get a copy of Model Railroading with John Allen. It's long out of print, but i grabed a copy of ebay. or you can try looking at your local library. it not only has his first plan, but the two that followed as well. i've taken his first plan and stretched into a 5x9 foot layout so the curves and turnouts wouldn't have to be as sharp. if you need some more help feel free to email me.

I've seen "Model Railroading with John Allen" at my local library, it's worth a look.

The April, 1973 issue of MR had an editorial tribute to John Allen, who had passed away in January of that year. An article on the layout followed the editorial. There is a trackplan shown, but it is an intermediate trackplan and not the final one. The original G & D was incorporated into this intermediate plan. The original G & D layout is the track that surrounds Taylor Lake.
I can scan the article and e-mail it to you. The pictures are black & white and may suffer in the scanning process, but the trackplan should come through well enough.
Send me an e-mail if you would like a scan of the article.
