If you have the space for them they are fine. I used two on my first little N scale layout and they certainly are far more believable than the Atlas actuators! I also used three Torotoises and I would prefer hte MicroMark if I went that way again.
My newer layout is on a piece of 2" styrofoam, so I made something similar using pager size gear motors and a tiny controller. I can excavate the styrofoam under the track and put the motor in there. But the motors are expensive if you have to buy them. We use this particular little motor by the thousand so they cost me peanuts. I keep thinking their may be a product here!

Has any one tried these? I am considering trying one with N-Scale PECO turnouts - looking to have both signals at turnout & panel controlled by switch. Any info would be appreciated.
