I haven't done it, but again there was a great article in MR (last year?) about somebody doing just this, but he was actually building a helix. Looks like it works pretty good.

In drawing up the staging loops of my four track PRR mainline the two westbound tracks go through the staging loop and reemerge as the two eastbound tracks. Being the thrfity individual I try to be I also tried to develop a way to maximize the usage of the plywood for this area. It dawned on me that I could cut the plywood into trapezoid shaped pieces ( \_/ ) That could be joined with biscuits utilizing nearly all the wood in a 4' x8' sheet. Has anyone tried this before? If so any unforeseen problems I should consider?
