[}:)] I saw one of his items for sale on ebay today before I logged in here and saw this! *laughs*

I showed the OL and she said "Don't even think about about" then halfway out of the room turned back and added "besides -we- model in HO scale" *snickers* I am a lucky man....

That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I'm still laughing ! Seriously though, be careful what you buy from ebay. Especially from someone in this guy's frame of mind.

Page 5 of the July 2005 Model Railroader has an ad that says the Broadway Limited is sexy. That's the first time I've noticed that word in a model railroad advertisement. I think it's out of place. My 28 year old son had the same reaction. Model trains just don't have that kind of thing going for them. They're exciting in another way entirely, and the two don't mix! The ebay guy will probably sell stuff that way, though. Sad.

I've seen other eBay listings like this - maybe from the same guy, I don't know. The one I saw was a scantily-clad lady on a bed with an N-scale Kato BNSF SD70MAC sitting on her thigh.

the Tech 3 Power Command 9500 sells for as low as 68.99 retail (thank you froogle.google.com) for a new unit . fifty bucks for used isn't that good a deal , and i wouldn't buy off the guy because of his cheesey presentation . i can just imagine what he uses for packing when he ships stuff , and since my wife joins me in opening all my packages i know it wouldn't go over to well .

Look at the ads featured in Model Railroader in the 50's, particularly Tru-Scale! Or those full page inside back cover Fleischmann ads. Heck even my Atlas Custom-Line layouts book has the disgruntled model railroader in the introduction reading 'Play Man" while his railroad gathers dust because of poor running.
