1) yes , that's the method most people use for adding bridges . i'm not sure about the cliff , you're still going to need something at the top of the cliff to support the track , that's what subroadbed does

2) yards are often laid directly on the plywood , sometimes a thin layer of cork will be use to cut down on the noise a bit , and also because driving track nails into plywood is hard work!

Basic questions I need help with

1) I am about to begin cutting my sub- roadbed.. There are some area that I want to put in a bridge and some trackwork on a cliff . Do I start with the 1/2 plywood then cut out when I am ready to add the bridge and the cliff side tracks ?
2) I am leaning towards using AMI for my roadbed, it seems llike it would go great with my curves but it seems like overkill for the yard and such.
3) I am looking for an easy read for DCC that I can download and print out.. Thanks Joseph
