kato n scale unitrack

hi looking to build my first n scale layout . considering using the kato unitrack system. any comments negative or positive would be helpful. my layout is going to be 3x7. on my former layout ho scale i used woodland scenics track bed and hated it. thanks

My layout is nowhere being my first, but I used Kato Unitrack on a 36" x 80" door and have been real happy with it. I did use some Railcraft Code 70 for the siding and the industry tracks which are laid in the dirt.
But the Unitrack is bullet-proof and looks good without having to ballast it. Just a little weathering and painting the sides of the rail and it looks great!

I've been using unitrack for a little over a year. Using it with woodland scenic risers. It is bullet proof. I'm inexperianced, but I can run two trains for hours unattended, wih no dropouts, or derail. Go with it. Dave

I've set mine up on dining room table and run some tests on my DCC Digitrax system and my first loco with a decoder. Ran like a champ! Very easy to use and designed to be set up and disassembled over and over. If you go with DCC be aware that the #4 turnouts are DCC friendly, whereas the #6 are not. This is just the reverse of the HO versions. However, I think with an insulated gap in the right place and another set of feeders, it will work okay with the #6. Anyway, everyone I've talked to in the area recommends Kato, and my goal is to get up and running quickly so I can operate and work on scenery and buildings, not spend months laying track.

I use kato unitrack too. Like the rest say it is bullet proof. You can see mine at http://www.railimages.com/gallery/alanmorgan. Mine is a four by eight n scale.

Ditto for me. I love the kato system. Mine is on a 32x80 door.
