Connecting DCS AIU and Atlas Switch

I am trying to get an Atlas O-Switch (#6075) working with an MTH AIU.
I am new to this but I have tried a number of wiring combinations without any luck.

From the MTH handheld I have added the AIU and programmed the switch.
If a press the SW button on the MTH handheld I see the switch that was added.
If I press buttons S4 or S5 on the MTH handheld I can here a clicking sound coming from the AIU .

From the Atlas switch I ran the middle wire to the "IN" on SW1 of the AIU.
I have tried flipping the wires a number of ways but so far nothing seems to work.

If anybody has expereince with this type of setup I would appreciate your feedback.
