Has any one had any experience with remote Bachmann Switches that have the switch machine inside of the roadbed? Do they hold up? any problems?

I am only three months into their use, and so far so good. BUT....I really would caution you about using EZ TRack turnouts. I have had trouble with cars deraliing, and I have found myself filing the points a great deal. Also, the pivots on some of them place the heels at odds with the adjoining rails, and I have had derailments there, as well.

If there is a better engineered, more refined product, and I am certain there is, I will use them next time.

Good evening,

One thing to watch out with these EZ turn-outs (along with any other company, e.g., Atlas True Track, LifeLike Power-Loc) is that the curve equates to a full 18" radius curve. Great for simple building a loop within a loop; however, you cannot use these turnouts for cross-overs with realistic distance between track centers. If you look at Atlas turnout's (code 100 & 83) that do not have "roadbed, you will note that the package includes a 1/3 18" radius curve. The turnouts by themselves will create a more realistic crossover ---- the 1/3 18R is provided to give the same effect as the E-Z, et. al., turnouts.

FYI... Bachmann EZ-Crossovers are NOT built to handle 2- train operations. You need to gap the rails in the middle of the crossover. They do not provide an insulating mechanism as shipped.
