Looking for HO scale beer signs for my tavern and liquor store
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, March 17, 2005 2:56 PM
I have looked on the internet for Budweiser, etc., logos, small enough (HO) for the tavern and the liquor store that I have on my layout, but can't find any. Blair Line doesn't have anything, except for a Jax Beer logo (not sold in my area). BTW, I used signs from Blair Line for these structures. They've got a great selection.[:D]

Does anyone else have taverns and/or liquor stores on their layouts with the windows "dressed up" with beer signs, etc., as these establishments usually do? I am modeling the modern diesel area so I need something from "today". My "Murphy's Bar" is especially lacking for some window "dressing" and "Cut Rate Liquor" needs some beer signs.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give me!

I have decals for Canadian beers from DVG Scale Models : www.dvg-scalemodels.com

Maybe they have American beers as well.

If you can download any logo, regardless of size, you can usually re-size it in MS Word or any of a number of graphics programs. Then print it the size you want. Even if they don't specify that a graphic is downloadable, very often you can right-click on the graphic and save it to your local computer (often as a GIF or JPG file.) Then open that file up with a graphics program, or Insert it into Word, resize and print.

I did find some logos on the 'net but they were too big to place in the windows. They'd make a pretty decent banner for outside of an establishment, though. Might try Mister Beasley's suggestion.

Several years ago I bought a "neon" look store sign. Mine was a GE Radio emblem. These signs were etched into a piece of acrylic and came with a lamp and brass reflector to light the edge of the acrylic for a neon look.
I don't have the manufacturers name but the insert in the package said "Sign of the Times" and I have model # ss-2441
I'll do some digging and see if I can find more info...

Google on "beer signs" and "beer ads", etc.

Then click on "Images" at the top.
