I've been using Pollyscale primer on styrene before coating it with Floquil without any problems. Floquil can attack bare styrene, especially if you lay on a heavy coat. Both Floquil and Pollyscale are solvent proof when fully cured (about five days for Floquil) so you can cover one over the other.
The paints you have to be careful with is oil based Enamels and Lacquers. You can spray Enamel over Laquer but not the other way around. Lacquer will attack or craze enamel paint. Floquil is a lacquer based.

Hi guys. First posting ever, so be gentle. I generally use water-based paints, eg, Pollyscale, but am wondering if I can "mix and match" layers. That is, can I prime with Floquil enamel spray, then later brush on Pollyscale? Vice-versa? I think that I can Dullcote spray over Pollyscale, but what about the reverse? Maybe just tell this "newbie" what he shouldn't try! And what about after weathering, if I want to restart/add more paint? What's okay over india ink/alcohol, for instance? Thanks for any help in advance.
