I have a unit that will give a red flashing light to the end car it is designed to work with D.C. .... and it does this, perfectly . However, I am using DCC and of coarse the power is A.C. and the unit will not flash . What do I have add to this unit to make it flash and where in the curcuit would I have to fit it.??? CPPedler

You will have to add two things:
1. A diode bridge rectifier which today is just a chip to convert the ac to dc.
2. a dropping resistor to keep the voltage under the requirements of the EOT device.

You should be able to fit both in a space roughly 1" square.

Geez, ndbprr, are you an electrical engineer, or something? You sure seem to have this stuff cold.

I'm impressed.[^]
